Below is a communal list of dance summer classes that cater specifically to adults. They range in times, levels and styles but all are part of the wonderful Victoria dance community.

Ballet at Cedar Hill with Jenna Holmes

Passion and Performance

Description: Passion and Performance believes that adults can enhance their sensuality and fitness through dance. They hold true to this belief by offering classes with two unique focuses regardless of a dancer’s skill level, gender, or age.

Raino Dance Summer Workshop Series

Levels: From beginner to advanced

Instructors: Amanda Zink, Kathy Lang, Dyana Sonik-Henderson, David Roland, and Lia Crowe

Descriptions: This Summer Workshop Series allows you to choose from five unique 5-day intensives. You join us Monday to Friday evening for your chosen week. By engaging with a style for five consecutive days, students consistently leave excited by the results, as well as having connected with a new, creative community. Take one week or take all six!

Rhythmical Contemporary with Dyana Sonik-Henderson

Description: Developed by Broken Rhythms artistic director, Rhythmical Contemporary is a style that was born and developed in Victoria. Its influences include Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop with inspiration from animalistic movement and a focus on connecting mind, music and body.

Rhythm & Soul Dance with Desiree Williams and Caleigh Hunter

Description: Rhythm and Soul Dance is a creative duo who are bringing drop in adult dance classes to the Peninsula. Our vision is to create a fun, inclusive, and creative environment where dancers from the community can come together to DANCE.

Red Hot Swing

Where: Dance Victoria Studios at 2750 Quadra Street, just north of Hillside

Type of Class: Swing dance lesson series, as well as weekly social dances

Level: Beginner to advanced

Description: The best place to begin is at the weekly Friday night dance.  That’s the one pictured here btw!  It starts with a 45 minute drop-in beginner lesson at 8:35pm (no partner or experience necessary), and then we have open dancing until 12:30am.

When you’re ready to dig in and get more, the class series are the place to go.  You begin at Swing 1 and learn your way up to Swing 5 over the course of several months.  Our next six-week Swing 1 session kicks off on Monday July 11th at 7pm.  You can get more information and reserve your spot on our website below.

Maple Leaf School of Ballet

Description: The classes happen on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday evenings from 6:00-7:30 p.m. There are twelve classes in the program. Classes start on Monday July 4th and finish on Friday July 29th.Each instructor will teach for a full week each, giving the students the opportunity to work with two high qualified instructors.

Whitespace Dance Summer 2016 Contemporary Classes

Type of class: Basic and Intermediate Contemporary

Instructor:Leah Wickes

Times: Basic Level 6-7:30pm (minimal experience) and Intermediate Level (experience required) 7:30-9pm

Description: Come join us this summer for either Basic or Intermediate Contemporary classes! Classes will be taught by Leah Wickes and will be held at Dance Victoria Studios. Classes are for ages 16+.
