Broken Rhythms is back on the Fringe circuit bringing the shows you love to a wider audience. This year we are packing up our yellow hats and heading to WINNIPEG for the first time to participate in Winnipeg Fringe.
Fringe Venue 01: John Hirsch Mainstage (174 Market Ave, Winnipeg, MB)
1,000 Pieces of π
Have you ever experienced math phobia and wanted to dance about it? Broken Rhythms has arrived this Fringe to serve up some delicious dancing π with a twist (and a few turns). 1,000 Pieces of π is the first act of its kind in that it investigates the mind-body connection by utilizing the constraints of the never-ending and never-repeating sequence of the number π (3.14) to create a full and yet ‘irrational’ dance show.
Winners of multiple Pick of the Fringe Awards, including Best of the Fringe.
“… showed raw emotion and they found a very unique way of being able to tell a story through dance” – Edmonton Sun
“This one is ever-evolving and simply breathtaking.“–CVV Magazine
“It’s a captivating, fully fleshed out dance performance”- Toronto review
1,000 Pieces of ∏ is a truly unique and special show in the Broken Rhythms repertoire. Using the challenge of memorizing the first 1,000 pieces of π, the show explores how a neurodiverse artist approaches this challenge and during the journey unpacks feelings of failure, insecurity, fear and strength.
