Broken Rhythms turns hold-music marathon into art
…The result is On Hold, which explores emotions sprung from the stasis almost practically every adult has faced, at one point or another, while waiting for a human voice to break the telephone tedium.
Sonik-Henderson used the idea for the piece to kickstart a bigger conversation, one that examines bigger facets of life, from relationships to creative pursuits, that often also get put on hold.
